Something else bothersome I've encountered after a week with the new Toast. You know the little box you have to go into to uncheck the 2 sec gap and hit apply to all? There's now another checkbox, an all together much more worrying one at that:

Right now nothing...in the past: Schoeps CMC6, AKG 480, AKG 460, AKG 414, MBHO 603a, Neumann KM100, ADK TL>Schoeps MK4, Schoeps MK2, Schoeps MK41, AKG ck61, AKG ck62, AKG ck63, Neumann AK40, Neumann AK50, MBHO ka200>Lunatec V2, Lunatec V3, Apogee Mini-Me, Oade M148, Oade M248, Sound Devices MP2, Sonosax SXM2>Sony (mod)SBM1, Apogee AD500>D7, D8, D100, M1, R1, R4, R09, iRiver HP120, Microtrack

it appears that you can put a copy restriction on the disc that you burn
you just have to uncheck it before you burn the disc

have you burned a disc with it on yet?

This isn't anything new. This is come from JAM, it is part of the redbook standard. Most applications that I've seen that are designed to create true redbook CDs have allowed you to set the CP bit for quite some time. With the exception of the MiniDisc, few products have ever supported this bit.

For those of you who are trying to burn DVD+Audio (not DVD-A) discs another option is DVD2One: http://www.dvd2one.com/

I tried the demo and it seems to work just fine (the demo does limit you to 4 songs though).

I had an opportunity to spend some time with one of the product managers from Roxio.  I told him that in Toast 7, using the FLAC to AAC conversion stripped the metadata.  He assures me it is fixed in Toast 8, but I have not upgraded yet.  Anyone?
