been a while since I posted pics and I have made some small changes..

first the stairway up to my finished third floor (that thankfully I still have a fair amount of control over ;) )

one of my favorite posters (for the hell of it)

my CD cabinets and binders (need to go through and get rid of some of the commercial stuff I just dont listen to)

a long shot of the room from the stairway

my core playback

from left to right

Denon 2900 - CD/DVD-A playback
Arcam AVR-300
Audio Magic Stealth Mini
Von Schweikert LCR-15
Oppo 981 HD - DVD-V playback
Direct TV HD Receiver
XBOX 360
Von Schweikert VR-2s flanking both ends.  Have them both spiked and am seriously considering filling them up with lead shot in the near future

Vinyl Playback:

Rega P1
Rega Fono Preamp
Audio Doctor Record Cleaning Machine

only disappointing thing is not enough time to listen to it.  Between work and my family I havent turned on the turntable in a month before today!

Only upgrade coming is some rear surround speakers to finish out the system.  I have considered upgrading the TT as well, but I love the way it sounds...probably good I dont live near anyone who has a better table than I do or I would be buying!

how's the positioning of that center channel working out?
SP-CMC-4 (AT853) > SP-SPSB-1 (no rolloff) > Tascam DR-05

wasnt real happy with it until I bought a couple of door stops and it is angled up now, and I love it.  Before I had a disconnect on the tv screen and where the sound was coming from, now it works perfectly.

I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia

I just realized how far from "high quality" playback I have....

What would be a nice integrated amp to start with? To run into my JBL L100's maybe?

ive been eyeing up outlaw audio.  not integrated, but reasonable prices with what seems to be competitive gear.

unless anyone cares to prove me wrong....i havent spent any money yet.

I heard this beast from the captain's chair back in october, and it was amazing. It just had a lot more balls than my current playback rig... much bigger, badder, thicker sound. 4 channel 24 bit panic sources sound fantastic on it ;D It certainly left me wanting more out of my setup...

thats tubes into the GPs.  they are all ready sort of "thick" sounding to me to begin with (in a good way, as opposed to sounding thin).  throw some tube power behind them and that must be a very nice syrupy slammy sensation for the brain!
love those GPs.
