Title: WaveLab 6: Tips for splice and crossfades?
Post by: rockymtnryan on July 02, 2015, 05:35:40 PM
Like an idiot I allowed my memory card to fill up during the encore of the last show I taped. I'm trying to splice in a couple minutes of patch from another source with some sort of smooth crossfade. Any tips? It would be my source to begin the track > patch > my source to finish up the track.

I did a rough edit and have it pretty close musically but without any crossfade you can hear a "skip" during the transition. I had basically copied/pasted the patch source into my source, not using audio montage or anything like that. Really tedious to line up through trial and error, and figure there has to be an easier way.

Thanks

In Wavelab you want to use the Audio Montage function. File > New > Audio Montage (select your bitrate).

To add a second stereo track click the drop down on the left that has a 1 in it and click Add Stereo Track.

Now you can put your main file in track 1 and your extra file in track 2. Line them up. Crossfade...good to go.

It's pretty easy.
