? for mbho owners...
« on: February 24, 2004, 01:02:00 AM »
I bought my mics used a year or so ago, so I don't really know what (if anything) comes with a new pair...but does mbho make mic clips? If not, anyone know a brand/model # that will work? Will the AKG 480 clips fit?

I own a pair of AT8410s, but sometimes they can be kind of bulky...just some standard clips would be nice.
Right now nothing...in the past: Schoeps CMC6, AKG 480, AKG 460, AKG 414, MBHO 603a, Neumann KM100, ADK TL>Schoeps MK4, Schoeps MK2, Schoeps MK41, AKG ck61, AKG ck62, AKG ck63, Neumann AK40, Neumann AK50, MBHO ka200>Lunatec V2, Lunatec V3, Apogee Mini-Me, Oade M148, Oade M248, Sound Devices MP2, Sonosax SXM2>Sony (mod)SBM1, Apogee AD500>D7, D8, D100, M1, R1, R4, R09, iRiver HP120, Microtrack

mbho does make clips for the active caps, but they are cheapass plastic holders. For full bodies, the AT's work fine, I think you could even fit the caps in there. My one real complaint when I had them, other than boominess in very thumpy situations.

They are $35 each and you can get them at any MBHO dealer.  Yes they are plastic, but I'm not sure about the cheapass comment :)

I'm pretty sure about the cheapass comment. I had both break on me 01 at Berkeley Panic.

I had the MBHO clips for the 603A's "active" cable setup for a while.  Just because Mr. All-Thumbs-Ogre-Brute broke his, doesn't mean they're cheapass.  I thought they were just fine.   :)

ouch, Brian, a little hostile today?  ;D Btw didn't break them really, the damn plastic screws got lost, and I had to tape things together.

Yeah, a little hostile.  :)  Had to get up 90min earlier than usual for a complete waste of time conference call.

I had the same problem with the plastic screws, though I caught what was happening before they fell out so I didn't lose 'em.
