Title: Voxengo MSED VST won't load in Wavelab
Post by: rigpimp on July 27, 2013, 01:41:41 PM
Windows 8 64bit and Wavelab 6.

I downloaded the free version of MSED since I ran MS for the first time last night.  For the life of me I cannot get the VST to load.  I only get an error that says "The module SPAN Plus.dll cannot be loaded".  I have tried deleting it, dropping it back in the VST plugins folder, created a Voxengo sub-dir, forced Wavelab to search for VSTs again on start up, and nothing works.

Any help out there?

From that message it appears Wavelab is looking for a different Voxengo plugin - SPAN Plus (http://www.voxengo.com/product/spanplus/). If you didn't download SPAN plus (or already have it installed), either download and install it or make sure it really was MSED you downloaded and not SPAN Plus.

I had downloaded MSED v2.4 a while back and just now installed it without a hitch in Samplitude 11 Pro. I noticed a new version, 2.5, is available so make sure that is the version you have and perhaps try the 32bit version rather than the 64. My version of Samplitude is only 32 bit while my Windows 8 is 64 so I can't run the 64bit MSED until I upgrade Samplitude 11 Pro to Pro X (aka v12) which has native 64bit support - 11 Pro only supports 32 bits. Perhaps Waveleb 6 has the same limitations.

< If you can't get the Voxengo free MSED tool to load/work you can try one from Kelly Industries mentioned in this thread (http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=80973.0). I just checked and the download link is still good though it is no longer available directly from Kelly Industries main page. >

Hey Flipp, first off thanks for catching my first error which was that I was downloading the wrong plugin.  d'oh!

Secondly, your 32/64 bit hypothesis was SPOT ON.  I was downloading the 64 bit flavor and my Wavelab runs in 32 bit.  I downloaded the 32 bit version and it loaded just fine.  I will go an grab the Kelly one too.

I appreciate your fast reply!  +T if I could...

edit to say: I'd add a 2nd plus tee just for no having the ability to flip my side 180.  I was wondering how I was gonna do that...  ::)
