Yes, the prices are good. The difference between online storage and buying the hard disks is shrinking but in some cases it's still better to have the data in your control.

Nice prices. Is this similar to Dropbox where you can send others a link?

Yes. You can upload then share the file in a few ways, including to anyone who has the link. Pretty nice. I bit on the $2 plan.

same.

This is also good for hosting files for my website.  I started a website about 6 weeks ago, but still on the fence if I am going to maintain it.  Most hosts charge a lot if you want to store more than about 25GB's, but $2/month for 100GB's is pretty good, much better actually.  so I may cancel my dream host plan, sign up for a free website and use google drive to host files.

Good deal. I was wondering if there was a catch, like you can't share it or DL it at any time.

So at the moment I'm paying Dropbox the same I would pay Google for 1/10th of the storage... Someone needs to up their game immediately if they want me as a customer. Hate to line google's pockets, but this is really a no brainer... For 10 a month I can store all my masters and all my pictures.

Why wouldn't you just buy a external drive?
I just got an external drive for $45

I'd wager on that if you buy an external HDD, YOUR data is NOT being backed up unless you are actually doign that yourself. Versus using google drive/Drop box YOUR data is in the cloud which means the data is already being backed up, somewhere
