Ipod Question

I've been shopping around for an Ipod and I've noticed there are Ipods manufactured by Apple and  an Ipod which looks to be manufactured by Hewlett Packard.  What exactly is the difference between the two?

I believe it's no more than the hp branded ipods ship with usb2 interfaces (i.e. are "intended" for pcs) while apple branded ipods ship with firewire/iee1394 interfaces (i.e. are "intended" for macs) -- usb 2 cables are readily available.

the apple ones come with the usb2 cable as well at least in the 40g model

the only difference is the HP ones have the HP logo on the back and are supported through HP tech support.  Other than that, they're identical.

apple does make both, hp "teamed up" with apple... as a result the hp ipods.  for more info you may want to look here:
