I have this Anker Astro Pro: http://www.ianker.com/support-c1-g212.html
It powers my V3 and it crapped out after only 3 hours on a full charge. I contacted Anker for a replacement but since it's been more than 18 months since I've had it, they won't honor the warranty, even though I've probably taped less than 20 shows since I've had it, which means I've used it less than 20 times.
The best they could do was 20% off a new battery. But I'm not inclined to buy another one of their products, so I'm looking for an alternative.
Reading other threads, this one looked interesting:

Anker has this newer model, but as I said, I'm not sure if I want to buy one of their products again:
http://www.amazon.com/Anker-20000mAh-Aluminum-Multi-Voltage-Technology/dp/B005NGLTZQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1437538582&sr=8-1&keywords=anker+astro+pro+14400+mah&pebp=1437538589138&perid=17CNCS8NYSBXDH3VC87A
The Tekkeon batteries seem a bit expensive.
I'm open to other suggestions. I'd like to keep it under $100 and I think 12000+mah should be ok. I generally don't record any shows that go for more than 4 hours. I'm not sure what the draw of the V3 is, but even my old 5600mah DVD batteries were enough to power it for several hours.
Thanks

If you still have the DVD batteries...as long as they were Li-Ion version...Pick up some new 16850 Cells and crack the case...

There are some Tekkeon batteries on ebay you might want to consider. Though I'd be sure to do a couple of test runs with them since a few people have reported getting bad ones and had to get replacements for them.

Since the V3 can be set to run at 6 volts you might want to find a battery like the Tekkeons that will output 6V. No sense sending the V3 9 or 12 volts when 6 will do.

I also run an R-44 so I want a battery that will power both devices so I can switch as necessary. I'm using my old DVD battery on the R-44 right now and I've got internal batteries as backup.

Ah gotcha. There are still some Initial DVD batteries around.

I own a couple of the unbranded Naztech15000 batteries that were available a while back and have been very happy with them. I don't think you'd go wrong w/ the Naztech.

The only battery that hasn't screwed me over is the Naztech. My $.02.

My personal favorite is the Power Gorilla:

I will admit it is not the cheapest option but it gets the job done every time.

I think I might give the Naztech a try. Does anybody know what tip it uses so I can go to radio shack and get one?

I picked up the Naztech, we'll see how it holds up tomorrow. I'll use it w/ the R-44 since I have AA batteries in it as backup, and the DVD battery w/ the V3. The Anker also uses an N tip so I'm good.
