It could. Can you swap channels at the deck? If the weirdness is only in one channel and it follows the swap then that eliminates the deck as the problem but still leaves the mics or cables as possible sources of you problem.

Of course if the weirdness is in both channels swapping cables won't help. Can you reposition the mics so they are further from the fan?

its a ceiling fan. Band in on now. I'm thinking the fan was not on the last time I taped her, same spot last  week.

Well, I let myself get distracted during set up Friday night and even more distracted during  ;) the first two bands I taped Saturday night. The problem was complete operator error.  ::) :P

FYI, I was in the club having problems and used my iPod touch to log onto TS.com to get help. I noticed a ceiling fan about six feet from my mics and I THOUGHT it could be giving me problems, but it turned out not to be the case. I discounted the obvious and was looking or anything out of the ordinary. I fixed the problem for the last band, which was really the most important one I taped. A friend's daughter was playing drums and he really wanted a copy.

Thanks for the assist Flipp (a +T for you). You were right. I didn't think I had done that, but I was talking to someone during set up and apparently screwed up. I should have thought of it myself but I completed tossed out that idea because I thought everything was cool.  :-\

It's nice to be able to log on and get help DURING a show!  ;D
