Sorry couldn't find the info in the media section. I'm happy to stick with 16gb and have two of those, I just want to avoid any problems....does UDMA = class? I've had great luck wth Lexar Premium II 16gb sd cards in my 661, just want to make sure I'm buying the most compatible. Thanks!

I always used SanDisk cards in mine.

I use Transcend & Sandisk 16gb cards.

Probably any modern namebrand card will work fine
Speed was more of an issue 4-5+ years ago - most cards on the market are more then adequate speed wise
Only buy from BH, Adorama, Amazon - make sure the seller is actually the site you are buying from - Amazon for example is a marketplace with many sellers so you need to look at the seller listed before you buy.
There are MANY fake cards on the market so never buy from eBay, or any other unknown seller.
You may also want to verify the recorder can handle larger cards - some recorders (i.e. the hd-p2 for example - only supports up to 8GB cards w/o firmware update) need firmware upgrades to support larger cards and/or won't support them at all

thanks all!

Mine no longer formats Type 1 cards. Fostex says the unit was made for Type 2 cards (microdrives).
Type 2 cards are scarce. Anyone try a CF Type 2 adapter for sd cards? Any recommendation for a said adapter?

I had a-data 16gb
Now that I see spyders post, I believe it was type 2

B & H has a CF to SDXC adapter card for $12.95. The reviews say it is just a bit larger than a standard CF card. No idea if it will fit in a Fostex. Seems like it has 4 stars on their reviews.

Found it! Thanks. I'll give it a shot.
