I don't know how many DATs you are looking to transfer, but have yopu considered inquiring w/ some of the guys on this forum who have working DAT decks, and currently transfer DATs? Worse case scenerio they charge you to perform your transfers - I imagine your ROI would be better than dumping $ into your own DAT deck.
"Thanks for the suggestions. It is just for short-term use for transfers so I am not on a search for something that will get a lot of use. I'm scared of the estimate from Pro Digital, but it must be done."
