DR2D help
« on: March 03, 2014, 05:22:01 PM »
I can't get my dr2d to power up with batteries or external battery pack. Any ideas what the problem might be?

I assume that you've already made sure that the hold switch is slid to "off"?

First thing I checked. No idea what happened it wasn't dropped or anything. One day it worked the next day when I needed it it didn't. I guess I need to get it checked out.

Yeah, that's strange.  If both battery sources are charged and the external battery connector cable is still fully functional, then it looks like the unit must be at fault.  Temperature extremes perhaps?

If you haven't already tried, it wouldn't hurt to remove the batteries for a spell and replace. One time mine wouldn't respond and this did the trick.

Don't think so. I have another dr2d that is missing the jog wheel and works just fine so I will likely just swap out the wheel and use that one. It is my low profile gear anyways. Just wondered if anyone has had this happen before. I did try the battery thing with no luck. I just can't figure out what went wrong.

It doesn't look like the Dr2D has a reset button, either.  I'd suggest trying to connect to a computer, but that still wouldn't help getting the unit to power on.

You might want to see what Tascam suggests.

Good luck.

More than 5V applied to the power jack?
9V will fry it.

Not sure if there is a replacable SMD fuse on the board or not.
