Hi,
I have just bought a SONY MZ-NH700.
Does anyone know if I can use an ordinary rechargeble battery for it, or it has to be like the one that comes with it?
Hope someone can help
Best wishes

Any rechargeable AA battery will work. But don't use the device to charge them. Use an external charger.
I'm using 2500mAh Energizers and get great record times out of them!

thanks.
I am going to a one-day festival with 4 groups, I think will play about 1,5 hour each.
Is the original battery + a normal rechargeble enough, when I want to record in pcm mode?
I guess that is the best quality?

Don't use the original. It is *much* less mAh. Something like 700 or 1000. You should bring two *freshly charged* 2300 or 2500 mAh batteries. Make sure they are topped up before you leave. One would probably be enough, but I would swap one out after, say two sets, or halfway through the day. Any *name brand* battery is OK, Duracell, Energizer, etc. Don't go for the cheap knock offs. They may work, but you won't save much, and it is not worth messing with questionable batteries.
