3.5 mm Stereo: Tip and Ring are .......?
« on: December 04, 2003, 12:58:56 PM »
Is the tip the left channel and ring the right channels like a typical TRS on a D8?  My 3.5 mm to RCA cable isn't labeled.....

Thanks

test it, plug it into your stereo, then turn your stereo up a bit, and touch the tip with your finger,  then touch the ring.  see which it come out of left or right.. that should work, cause i can't remember off hand..  peace.

I'm estranged from my stereo (travelling for work) and unable to play around to figure out which is which.  I'm going to tape from a sbd this weekend and didn't want to get it wrong and end up having to swap channels in Cool Edit afterwards.......Thanks

the "R"ing is almost always "R"ight according to standard convention.
