Title: 3.5mm (1/8") to 3.5mm patch cables in the UK?
Post by: Andy L on January 28, 2017, 09:17:05 AM
I have a Sound Professionals SP-HEC-4 patch cable (http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/SP-HEC-4) which has a male 3.5mm (or 1/8 inch) jack at both ends which I've used to connect my Sony PCM-M10 and CA-9100 preamp. It's 0.15m in length with right-angled connectors on both ends which is ideal but it's developed crackling and dropouts when the connectors are touched or moved.

Sound Professionals still sell the cable and I could buy a replacement but to save shipping costs and import duty, is there anywhere in the UK that does a similar length good quality cable or where I can get my current cable repaired?

Maplin, CPC, Ebay, supermarkets even...

I just regard them as disposable and pick up a handful whenever I remember to do so.

One wonders if it is the lead that has become faulty or just dirty contacts that are the issue.
