Title: wavelab acting weird
Post by: admkrk on April 21, 2007, 02:43:36 PM
so last weekend i took the lappy to wanee and set up at the amp. went over to the main for mule and abb and couldn't get a signal. dats jb3s all worked fine, but nothing getting to lappy. after alot of messing w/ it the next day and finaly someone else doing the same, it turns out that it was looking at the wrong sound card. switch it back and all is well. problem is i now have to do this every time i start a new recording. i also noticed later that it started adding stuff to the titles. like oteil2007-04-13 became oteil2007-04-13026. tried "save as" and it still changed the title again.

nothing here i can't work around, but it would be nice to get it back working right. any ideas?

hdd getting full and that was suggested for other reasons. i've only been using this rig for a short time and haven't been deleting and filling back up the hdd or i would agree. it would explane the file name changes, but trying to use a different sound card doesn't sound likely to me? once i finish up a couple things i'll have 60-80 gigs to delete, see what happens then.

thanks for the feed back just the same.

This has happened to me once. I re-installed WaveLab and everything was good again...

I think that your problem is actually part of the recording screen.  At the top it has a feature that auto-numbers tracks.  Just uncheck the box and you should be fine.

yea, that was checked, not sure if it was before or not? i could've hit it by accident tho.

i was thinking of reinstalling the drivers for the ua-5 and see if that fixed the sound card issue? i'm due for some maintanance soon, maybe i'll just reinstall everything and start from the begining?

thanks again all!
