wait just a god damned minute!!! :o
that one is stating that it is sold without the microphones - total ripoff! I read your post as I was heading out the door to a gig, and really didn't look at it well enough. sorry.
for the price that I see the BIN at,... you should be able to get the entire package, including the mics.
yeah i thought that was a tad bit high with no mics. ;)

I've got that mke2002. The mics it comes with are fine, but better options exist now. Now I use Sennheiser KE4 or Countryman B3 with it.

i was thinking about picking up one of these http://www.studiorox.com/display/image/head/EraGnew.html (http://www.studiorox.com/display/image/head/EraGnew.html) and rigging it up with my CA-14 omnis or some 4060s fixed right up against the ears. what do y'all think?
-
i'm interested in trying something different more than anything. i did the j-disc thing when i had 4060s but only a couple of times before i sold them.

The Sennheiser MKE 2002 was discontinued over 20 years ago!
Personally - I have just bought a Schneider Disk (details HERE (http://www.mbho.de/pdf/oss_discs.pdf) - but be aware this libks to a pdf).
I will use this with a pair of good omnis.
I will actually be using it in London tomorrow for a special recording - I will use either the Neumann KM 183-D or Sennheiser MKH 20 - will decide which when I get there.

Do you know the price of that Schnieder disc? I'm considering making one of these, but may just buy if the price is right. Is there an MBHO dealer in North America?
Thanks,
Richard

You're lucky - with the exchange rate it's much cheaper for you.
In the UK it's about that in £.
But it's a great disk.

Simple, very inexpensive and the results are excellent. More info...

IMO...omnis in these configurations sound awesome, you get the great low end response of the omni and better stereo separation than a card...
Even a cardboard box works wonders...
