Title: Powering Deneke with ECO-Charge
Post by: bayouav on September 07, 2006, 03:09:24 PM
I've got a couple of eco-charge BP-50 6V7.2Ah batteries from my old rig and was wondering if there was a way to power a Deneke AD20 and PS2 from one BP50 or a couple. Would be really cool to not have to invest in anymore portable power products - the eco-CHARGE still smarts. FWIW, I'm running MBHO 603 active Cards and recording on Microtrack 24/96  or D8. 9V batteries are barely running the rig 2 hrs.

I think that 6 volts is below the minimum voltage requirement for the ps2/ad20 (I could be wrong, it should be printed on the ps2/ad20's coverplates). You could wire the 2 6 volt ecocharge batteries in series to produce 12 volts, but that's a lot of lead to carry around.  Better bet might be to sell the ecocharge battery system and pick up a wallmart-style 9v lithium ion battery (around $30 via ebay) which would be a fraction the weight and would power your rig for a REALLY long time (literally all day)
