Hi!
Let's see:
Sony and Sharp Minidiscs
Sony MZ-RH1 HI-MD which works like a charm - It still is the smallest, lightest and quietest rig that I own. Can't get why they don't make a microSD version in the same form factor, there's plenty of room in there if they take the mechanics out.
Zoom H2 (the first version) - too bad its self-noise is so high
Tascam HDP2 - has rust on its XLR connections and in the battery compartiment, knobs are noisy when adjusting gain and the plastic cover of the screen fell off
) but the sound is still very good!
Olympus LS100 - higher noise floor than I had hoped, aimed at the musician more than the sound designer
Sony PCM-D50 - a bit fuzzy and bass-thin, but still the best portable recorder I own.
Sound Devices 744T - workhorse. Bulit like a tank.
And field mixers Sound Devices 302 and 422 - which ARE little tanks.
That just about sums it up for the moment.
Planning to get a Tascam DR100MKiii and Sound Devices 10T in the near future, but what I'm really hoping for is a 788T-SSD
