Title: Shure A53M Shockmount - Opinions

I've never heard of any one using this mount for taping.  It's specs (db of attenuation) are better than the AT mounts commonly used and it's size seems better for FOB work than the AT mounts.  What are the negatives about this mount.  Here's a link to shure's page:

hey chris,

I have a pair of these for when i'm not running the actives. They are very solid and stable. the only drawback is that they don't clamp around the mics. you have to slide the bodies through and if your bodies are small then they may have a loose fit. I believe body sizes are universal to fit? 19 mm?
