Looking at external power...and it says

18VAC  1000mah

what does this mean?  and can this be powered without a wallwort??

18 volts AC power.  Not field friendly.  to get this going will probably mean 12v DC > ~120v AC > 18v AC

thanx fozzy...i had a sneaky suspician this was the case..but figured i would ask the experts first!

so...is there any TUBE preamps that are able to be powered in the field?  I am thinking i would like to try some tube....but it may be a dream...

schoeps m222 body w/ the nt222 powering supplies, they come in AC and DC 8)
