I recently bought the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS and am becoming dissatisfied with it.  I'll get a skip in the recording where the software (SoundForge 6.0) isn't recording and then resumes.  I've had this problem before, but I just rebuilt the PC with Windoze 2000.

Does anyone else have a recommended sound card?  I don't care if it's internal or external.  I am running out of my home deck via digital coax and would like that input on the new card.

Thanks,

Jeff
I have the audigy 2 platnium and it works great. I also have a M-audio duo for recording 2 track its fine. It sounds like to me that your problem might be slow cpu or not enough memory or a slow harddrive. I need more specs on what you have in order to make that determination though .

PIII 750 MHz with 750 mb RAM.  The HDs are not the SE, so I think the regular 2meg buffer.  I even have a 4 gig partition set-up for swap/temp space in SoundForge.

I used an Extigy before this ('til it died) and had no problems.
