Title: Just out of curiousity
Post by: DaveH on April 08, 2009, 11:37:50 AM
I know stealth recording is not a healthy subject on this board, but I'm just curious as to how in the world people were able to sneak video cameras into shows prior to the digital era. I've seen videos of the WWF from the 1980's and 90's and often wondered how they could have gotten a camera that big through security. I'm not so much looking for techniques, but rather curious as to how they pulled it off. I would think they had to know somebody in the venue.

The video taper who has posted a lot of stuff to smithstorrents.co.uk has some good stories in his info files/postings.

But it's all pretty much as you'd expect: friends in/around the band and trousers big enough to accomodate both the equipment and some mighty big balls...
