yet another reason why full range speakers are tops.

so you have the speaker setup in the menu dialed in properly I can assume?
I'd call Doug w/this question.  anyone there can probably answer it for you.  its a defect i've never heard of.  i'm thinking its a setting in the system.

new problem. the 3000es has been moved to its original intended home. after hooking it all up, i got the "error 11 protection" message. after rewiring, more rewiring, and completly unplugging everything, i still get the same  error. i , then, noted that the speakers are both 4ohm. can the 3000es handle a 4ohm load? even if this is the problem, it persisted when NOTHING but the ac cord was plugged in.  :help:

call sony, I got a similar error on mine and they fixed it...dont remember the exact error message but sony can probably tell you the issue.

it pays to look into these things ahead of time.  always ask "will this amp drive my speakers properly?"..its an important question when you have a 4ohm load to drive.

that doesn't help you now...but maybe next time.

bumping this cause a new thread was silly.

question:

do you guys "eq"? what i mean is, when i cut down the bass, i "hear" a slight noise and see the little light on the screen that says EQ come on. does this mean it is no longer *direct*?

btw, all the problems from this thread have been solved. i just bought one of these too. i was "auditioning" trey's, but i had 301's at the the time w/ a sub that wont work w/ the 3000es, but thats okay cause i just got a pair of b&w 604's. i kinda miss my sub, and i may get one eventually that will accept rca inputs, but right now my credit card hates me.
