Title: R-09 VS. BR-660
Post by: randelph on July 22, 2006, 03:44:21 PM
hey tapers-
came across info on a new recorder from boss:
http://www.roland.com/products/en/BR-600/specs.html

i know for most of you the br-600's lack of 24 bit recording is a deal killer, but if your use is more casual, like mine would often be, and the idea of using it for musical purposes is on your list, the br-600 looks amazing for $399:

built in stereo mic / 8 track recorder (2 simultaneous) with 8 v-tracks per track / playback of approx 5 hours with 6 aa's / very thin, relatively small for its features, comes with a soft case / tons of preset drums plus velocity sensitive pads / a separate rhythm track and a dedicated guitar input / lots of fx, tuner, vocal pitch correction, slow down music with pitch correction for practicing

i guess my biggest questions about the br-600 are:
1. quality of the built-in mics
2. quality of the recording
3. travel worthiness/sturdiness in my backpack would be a big consideration as well, given that it's not a pocket sized recorder

so- whaddayatink?

here's the only review i was able to find: http://www.fenderforum.com/forum.html?db=&topic_number=567165&lastpost=2006-07-0407:21:38

I've looked for other reviews, couldn't find, please tell me if you find more.
