Sound Cards
« on: May 12, 2011, 05:14:59 PM »
Just updated my computer and while the intergrated sound card is useful for now I don't like some of the latency issues it has.  I have updated the drivers and it seems to have helped a little, I think I am going to purchase a new card to throw in the machine.

The computer does not have any PCI slots so my m-audio 24/96 card will not work.  I need a PCIe card.  I have been looking at the E-mu0404 card and the ASUS Xonar Essence STX PCI Express Sound Card.  anyone have any experience with these cards or can suggest another card worth looking at.....obviously the main puropse is going to be procesing recordings.  I need a card with both analog and coax digi out....I am currently using a Boston Acoustic Sub sat speaker system for mixing....very familar with these speaker but will be upgrading to KRK rp6's at some point.....

thanks OOK

I don't have an answer for you, but as my 24/96 card probably won't fit into my next MB upgrade, I am interested in any recommendations. FWIW, mine outputs directly to my hi-fi amp.
