recording with my laptop

i am looking for some software to record a show to my computer. i have soundforge 8.0 already just wondering if their is any thing else out their worth trying.

I use WaveLab on a Fujitsu laptop and I can't complain.

I'm gonna try Cubase too, but i think there's a free version of Audacity that can do it - what other hardware do you have?  It matters.

Just as an FYI, all versions of Audacity are free.  It's a free app.
