Traders Little Helper problem
« on: February 06, 2008, 09:03:46 AM »
I usually use Traders Little Helper only to create the shn tool output but for soem reason I am getting an error everytime I try to do that or use any otehr function with it.

I get an error message that says:

"All required components not found in window's directory. Processing is being terminated"

I have wondered if soemthing in cdwave is doing it so I have tried coverting 2 differnt ways & still get the same message:

1) 24 bit wav>cdwave (split tracks, save as the 24 bit format)>wavelab (UV22/resample)>flac>Traders little helper (FAIL)

2) 24 bit wav>wavelab (UV22/dither)>cdwave (split tracks, save as 16/44.1)>flac>Traders little helper (FAIL)

I have also tried using the traders little helper to do the flac encoding:

3) 24 bit wav>wavelab (UV22/dither)>cdwave (split tracks, save as 16/44.1)>Traders little helper (FAIL)

any thoughts? I'd like to seed some shows at digipanic but they want you to use the shntool output . . . .

are you using the newest version of flac?when I upgraded to it my traders little helper would not work.  can't remember the exact errors but it wouldn't work.  I downloaded the latest TLH and it works though it's not as user friendly.  ie clicking on a checksum doesn't automatically run it (load it to run).  it opens it asks what to do (check isn't even an option).  a few little things like that with the new version bother me but it's still a great tool.

just saw you can't convert to flac with it either.   ???

i think you may have to check a box in cdwav that allows it to save 24bit files in a different manner so that older apps can read the flacs after they are encoded
