I've listened to mine about 3 times---sounds good, just the levels need to come up.  i think you could get the 20 seconds from me.

no offense, this is one of those times you send your mics back to neumann, drop the 50 bucks or whatever it costs, let them fix them and check all the parts.  they may see something you might not see wrong with the mics

i have taken apart every peice of gear i've ever owned...... ;D  i ain't stopping now

this goes a little beyond just taking the mics apart...

ive had my 480's for 5 years now, should i send mine in??? goo also dropped a capsule on the ground at galactic one time, in 01, but nothing audible

might consider sending it in for a cleaning when you've got some extended downtime

yeah, couldnt hurt i guess, huh??

i may do that, but my downtime is never more than a month usually

im sure heath would loan a pair of mics if need be tho!!

nice, theyre still in MINT condition too 8)theyd be pretty happy to see a 5year old pair of mics come back the same way they left ;)

My experience w/ AKG was that  turn around was about 1 week.
