Title: AD-20 > JB3 question
Post by: phishmarisol on April 06, 2004, 09:20:42 PM
Got an AD-20 and trying to figure out what else I need.  It has a toslink out and I thought I could get a toslink adapter and an optical cable and be fine.  However, I read the JB3 archival info. and it said that I might need a digital signal converter for it to be bit perfect...do I really need something like a c02?  It didn't specify if I would or not...just says that some will need one.

you will only need a CO2 if you need to convert the coax out of the AD-20 to an optical for your jb3.  The AD-20 already has an optical out so there is no need since you are running a jb3 behind it.

One more quick question then.

If the min. gain is right around 16/17 db does that mean that even with the gain turned all the way down it is boosting it by that much?  I am assuming it does.

Yes.
