Supermounts Upside down?

Will the mounts that come with the TL's allow you to mount them upside down? I mean, will they take it? I'm going to tape my daughter's 1st B-day, and want to use a boom mic setup, so we can act like we're on the set of the Godfather.

which mounts? the black mounts that are the clip type? or the ones that come witht he matched sets that are the screw in type?

im pretty sure both will work, but i know for a fact that the silver "screw in" type will work, as ive used them for vertical xy with my TL's

The clip ones. My TLs are matched, but they didn't come with no stinking screw-type mounts. Hm. But yeah, the clip ones. You've run vert XY with the clip type Dustin?

I have run vert using the clip ones, works fine, don't worry, the mics aren't going anywhere

bean, i don't see what you are talking about.

also - for xy or blumlein, the TLs will look like this..-

always draws a lot of questions.

I like the vertical arrangement, but I have run ORTF for a bunch of shows recently and been very happy with the results.  Looking to break out the J-disk at some point soon, when my rig is back intact and music coincides with my schedule.

yes, it does draw a lot of questions...had a few tapers look at me like I had a penis growing out of my head while I set blumlien up the first time I tried it...it just looks cool ;D

I also look forward to trying out the j-disc sometime soon....

you didn't get screwed, you just got a different set of mounts... it really isn't that big of a deal... they have changed the mounts that came with these mics a few times.
