Anyone know anything about this stuff?
Probably pretty nice (for a second mortgage) :)

Besides being made with the Kevlar reinforced cable(it is really nice cable) its just a xlr cable, you can buy the raw cable for 12.00 a meter and buy some neutrik 5 pin xlrs, so you could make a single cable for about half the price, so if you did it yourself you could make a set for the price of one cable from schoeps. Or if you want someone to make it a little more for the labor(Me or Ted), and if you don't need the fancy cable then you could just use some star quad cable, I just made a set of 5 pin xlrs with canare star quad for someone for a lot less recently.

Hey thanks for your reply!
Do you know the part number of this cable?

SCH501
Go through Redding Audio to get this. Don't go through a Schoeps retailer.

Price is fixed so shouldn't matter if they are on the up and up?
-
I use them as they came with my m222's - I have made short versions that I use now as well (using Neutrik's and Schoeps 4 conductor + shield cabling).

Prices are not fixed for parts, only retail items (which Redding won't sell).

interesting, thanks a lot. (3.5 bucks/foot at
Redding posthorn)
Does anyone know who manufactures this?
-
I'm sure Schoeps has it custom made. Are you just going off the posthorn website? Again, I recommend you only go through Redding. Jerry hasn't even emailed me back from when I asked him if he had any of this stuff in stock.
-
Yeah agreed. I'm just interested in finding out about it, no plans to purchase at his point.
-
It would probably be a German cable manufacturer - the cable is Kevlar clad I believe which may help narrow your search.
There may not be a retail version of the cable meaning you would have to buy a significant amount. It's not Mogawi or Canere...

I haven't used mine yet because I use my KC5 pair instead of running just the bodies. They seem topnotch. I've thought about using them in another capacity but am on the fence as it would no longer be the complete M222/NT222 set. :-\
