Title: good soundboard rig newbie?

I was wondering what is good to record off a soundboard I have a sony vaio laptop is that good or should I get mini disc adn if so what should I get thanks I know nothing about htis stuff!

there are a lot of options...one simple answer to your question right now, i believe, is get a vx pocket for $200 as posted in the retail section and use it to patch into the board.  then get a copy of some recording software, i'm sure someone here can help you out with that...
what's your budget, what specs does your laptop have, what other applications would you like to be able to use this with, and how much and in what settings do you plan to tape are all important questions...

Laptop is cool, just need the right cables/connectors as moke mentioned.  Also, 15 gigs will be plenty for quite a few shows, but you will eventually fill it up.
