just got mine in the mail. never used a portabrace at all before but it seems kinda clumbsy. will really protect the unit and holds it perfectly but i don't know if i like it or not.

I like it for two reasons, one it gets it up off the bottom of the bag...it is suspended in the bag, which I have to believe is a good thing if vibration is a problem that night (i.e. on a bounchy floor of a club) and to me it also does a great job at protecting the unit from getting beat up in my bag....my .02

anyone know of a perfect bag for mgs>m148>722,
cables, and a couple of jb3s??

Sounds like a good reason to get a 744t instead of the 722, Ray. 'course, that's a harder hit on the wallet...

my wallet has been hit so hard over the past 4 months, it has grown bitter and indifferent to pain.

I posted 2 pics of the portabrace bag with the add on pouch for my v2 over in rig pics. I like the portabrace because of the clear plastic covers. Running fob at a panic show your bound to get whiskey on it and if a chilly gets played youll see why I like it ;D

I've been meaning to get some clear vinyl and add it to my rig. I think it can (and should) be added to any bag.
Home Depot sells heavy duty clear plastic drop cloth sheets - about $3 for 15'x12'. I use those. You can cut them into smaller sheets for indoor events and use larger sheets for outdoor taping when heavy rain is expected. They work great because they are tough enough to not rip, you can monitor your levels and operate most controls right through the plastic. Keeping a couple of them in your kit will add no weight. The thick vinyl won't allow you to operate controls as easily without opening the bag.

Good thinking with the plastic sheeting stuff. I've often run my gear in a black garbage bag. Interestingly, the 722's lights are easily visible right through it, at least when the skies are dark enough when the rain's coming down.

contractor garbage bags, thicker mm bag and still can see the v3 lights thru them :)
i can take a full beer spilled over my bag when a garbage bag is over it! bring on the rain bitches!
