(1) I would be freaking out if I had to check all of that stuff. Something is almost certain to come out broken.

(2) The dude forgot to pack clothes.

1) Bet he forgot to pack the camera that took all these pictures!

2) Don't forget that roll of duct tape!

3) Taking all that photography gear to the far east...hell EVERYONE over there has this much photography stuff!!! 

No really, it really is amazing how much gear is being packed up.  Man, the dude's budget for the Olympics must be out of the roof...although I'm sure he must work for SI or someone like that.

Can you imagine...walk into the camera shop...hmmm, I'll take three of those, two of those, a few of that, five of that, and throw in that 1000mm lens for fun!  Put it on my tab!

One of the photos had some kind of document for Newsweek, outlining all of the events, so he could figure out what to shoot.  So I'm guessing he's working for them.
