recorderman with spot mics
« on: October 11, 2012, 01:53:59 PM »
HI All

I have become very attached to the recorderman technique for drums as I like how it seems to give me a powerful sound without need for much reinforcement. SO I have been happy enough on my own stuff to not bother with reinforcement. I am recording a band soon who will take the tracks to a studio for mixing. I was thinking of micing all the drums as well in case the engineer wants reinforcement. I assume recorderman was really thought out for people that only wanted 2 overheads and maybe a kick drum mic....so how do spot mics on the drums work out with recorderman as overheads?

Cheers,
Rich
