mics>mixpad4 or mics>phantomII>mixpad?

I have a phantom II that provides 2-channel 48V power and a mixpad4 that only provides 18V.  I'm running a pair of Superlux HMK-H8Ks that like 48V.  How much am I losing at the 18V level vs. 48V?  I was planning on selling the phantom II but am curious if I should hang onto it.

you should test for yourself, but most likely you lose significant dynamic range by not giving it the full 48v.

I'd run the phantom into the mixpad, better range and you've got them both anyways, but what you should really do is ebay them both and buy a UA-5  ;)

As soon as I see a UA-5 for $100 I'll jump right on it! :)
