Topic: who uses the portabrace for the 722?

just got mine in the mail.   never used a portabrace at all before but it seems kinda clumbsy.   will really protect the unit and holds it perfectly but i don't know if i like it or not.

I like it for two reasons, one it gets it up off the bottom of the bag...it is suspended in the bag, which I have to believe is a good thing if vibration is a problem that night (i.e. on a bounchy floor of a club) and to me it also does a great job at protecting the unit from getting beat up in my bag....my .02

so far, every show i have taped has had the capability to do both a SBD and AUD source, so Ive been doing post matrixes one of . the jb3s is for the SBD source.
and gonna use one line out of the 722

I've been meaning to get some clear vinyl and add it to my rig.  I think it can (and should) be added to any bag.

Home Depot sells heavy duty clear plastic drop cloth sheets - about $3 for 15'x12'.   I use those.   You can cut them into smaller sheets for indoor events and use larger sheets for outdoor taping when heavy rain is expected.   They work great because they are tough enough to not rip, you can monitor your levels and operate most controls right through the plastic.   Keeping a couple of them in your kit will add no weight.  The thick vinyl won't allow you to operate controls as easily without opening the bag.

Good thinking with the plastic sheeting stuff.  I've often run my gear in a black garbage bag.  Interestingly, the 722's lights are easily visible right through it, at least when the skies are dark enough when the rain's coming down.
