Neumann km140 shock mount options
« on: August 17, 2005, 11:04:18 AM »
Hey all...

I'll have the DS-120 sliding mount for the actives..and am looking for shock mount options.
wil it fit in a schempz a20?
I'm pondering the neumann inline shock mount: Neumann Z-26 mt...but need to find it.  the one place online (overseas) was cheap..until shipping and export costs which nearly doubled the price.

I'll hit up Frank I guess
:)

Nick,

Did you consider getting a konig and meyer 23550 bar? Looks to be about the same except you can get it from posthorn for $17 instead  of $150 or whatever the neumann one costs.

Adjustable from 60-172 mm and with 3/8" locking screws

DOH! :D

Double DOH! It apparently works just fine in Real player, but not winamp.  :-[

Any chance you could cancel the order or return it Nick? If not, at least the neumann bar isn't a rebadged K&M - the two are definitely different.

nay...i'm cool w/the neumann bar.  Plus it has little mounts that hold the actives.
I'm going to get the neumann inline shochmount ..its the same price as an a20.  no elastics..nothing breakable at all.  and it is universal.  with one of those...a T bar and mic clips for any mic will always work.

I never really looked at that shockmount before - that's pretty cool! I wonder how well it would work on a pair of full body mics? I may consider getting one of these and sticking a Vark bar on top. I'd like to hear your opinions on this mount once you get it. Also, cheapest I found was $59. Is this a good price?

Shipping was $5.34 - I think they are located in Michigan. At least that is what the site says.

i live 30 minutes from that place.  i'd pick one up and send it to ya, but honestly, i don't think i could beat $5.34 - everytime i send anything it seems to cost at least $10+

nice find tho, i'm gonna pick one of those up too.

Because nothing says "I have lots of money and am sort of confused as to how to spend it" like Bose.

yea...cascade had them for the same price..fwiw.
for our applications, I dont think you can go wrong.

a good spider type suspension is the best isolator, imo.  but we are not in dead quite controlled environments. or, at least i'm not.
this will do just fine.
