Topic: dual layer DVD brand recommendations?

I'm trying to gather information on what brands of dual layer DVDs are the best to use (archival longevity being a key concern).  I use TY CDRs and DVDRs, but they don't seem to make dual layer DVDs (at least I haven't seen any for sale anywhere).  Any recommendations about good dual layer DVD brands would be much very appreciated (or, any cautions about problematic brands would be helpful too).

I have been using Fuji's - they are made in Taiwan but  have not yet burned a coaster...

Longevity - they are stilll good after 6 months..

I've seen the same thing asked in a few other forums ~ and the consensus is Verbatim makes the most reliable dual-layer disks.

Nothing scientific... just what a lot of people have said when the subject was raised.

i use verbatims exclusively except for DL's, theyre more money but for DL's ive been using ritek ridata DL's

Thanks, your comments are all helpful!   I'm used to using the TY (Japan) CD/single layer DVDs, and haven't been able to find a lot of information about reliable dual layer discs.

I burned a few Imations and had no problems, but Verbatims tend to be the best...

I use the ritek dual layers.... very good price and very good disc...out of several hundred only had two bad discs... I highly recommend them

i have been using Verbatim DLs ($60 for 20 from newegg.com) because they were highly recommended by everyone.  no trouble yet but $3 per disc is still expensive.

Haven't used them, but 25 Fujis are on sale for $40 at Best Buy this week.
