Bag reccomendations
« on: December 09, 2006, 12:50:54 PM »
Couldn't find a more appropriate forum, so I'm posting it here- feel free to move it if necessary.

Finally replaced my laptop with a MT2496, so I'm looking for a smaller bag. So far the Lowepro Nova 4 seems to be the way to go. Gear it needs to hold is:

1 pair Peluso CEMC6's in Tupperware
1 set XLR's (15')
vert bar
small peluso mic clips
M-Audio Fast Track Pro (plus LI battery)
MT2496 (plus AA battery pack)
superclamp

Any reccomendations would be great!

 ;D

Love the lowepro nova's.  Weather resistant, padded inserts, plenty of extra pockets.  Have a 3, 4 and a 5 coming soon.

4 would fit all that nice and easy.  I used to pack more than that in my 3 but it was on the snug side  ;)

i agreee. I also have the Nova 4. I run. SP-C4s, a PS-2, into and R-1. Overall, similar size to the equipment you run. There is plenty of room for shockmounts, t-bar, clamp, interconnects and so fourth. An the outside pocket on the back is great for a couple short bungee cords we well. They can be had on ebay for about $45 new.

I really like the Petrol sound bags.
They are very well designed for audio work.
They also have plastic window on top, you can see your levels with the bag closed.

Sorry to steal your space but I need a recommendation also.

I want to be able to have all my stuff in a bag and leave it there while taping.

I have

jb3
UA-5
AT853
Sp batt box
portable dvd batt & vrbox to power ua-5 & JB3
+ various cables

I run the at853 into the back of the UA-5 so that may limit my choices.

You can't go wrong with the Lowepro Nova series -- 3, 4 or 5, depending on your amount of gear. I run with a Nova 4, love it.
