any tips on getting good quality photos using a fuji s7000,  I mostly go for the audio, but would like to take some good pics. I always get that weird light blur during the concert due to low light. (even when close to the stage)

With most of the point and shoots avoiding motion blur can be very difficult.  Bump up the ISO up if you can on your camera.  Wait for the stage lights to be at their brightest.  Try manual metering/exposure controls; the built in meters often don't keep up with the changing lights and have difficulty properly metering the high contrast/dynamic range of lights on a stage.  Find something to brace against and stabilize the camera.  A tripod is ideal but usually not an option for concert shooting.  Practice, with digital mistakes cost you almost nothing.

Take a ton of shots, they won't all come out good. I usually end up deleting 5-10 for every 1 I decide to save.

I figured my problem out, I was too shaky when taking the photos. A mono-pod (spelling?) did the trick. The last guy is groove, the master of light during this tour.

Those turned out nice for being shot with a P&S.  Did you have any trouble getting the monopod in?  I'd guess for taper friendly bands it's probably no big deal, but I've never tried without credentials.
