Title: Proper way to add effects in Audacity?
Post by: runonce on April 16, 2011, 10:22:47 AM
I was working with board heavy matrix that I thought sounded a bit dry.

Its an on the fly matrix so its only 2 channels, 16 bit.

I couldnt seem to get the GVerb effect to sound the way I wanted on its own - but then I thought perhaps that wasnt the way.

I ended up copy and pasting the entire wav into a second stereo trackset and applied the GVerb effect to that - and then used the fader slider to mix the "effect-ed" tracks in with the original track set.

So thats 4 channels total.

Seemed to give much better control over the effects blend in the mix...and its pretty much the way most bands run outboard effects live.

Just throwing this out there for others, as this somehow escaped me on other attempts.
