Iriver help

Hello, so I switch on my iriver for the first time since early September and find an ATA error. When I 'reset' it, it obviously reverted back to the firmware without rockbox and comes up with the message "Check your HDD". How do I solve this problem? Its really annoying to find out half an hour before I go to a show.  >:( I don't think I can enjoy it as much if im not taping!! Argh.

Ok, I read something about removing the cover and fiddling with hdd to make sure its connected or soemthing, or even resoldering in some cases. I cant even get the screws out...is there any expert who is willing to take the device and 'repair' it for me? I can cover postage and other costs, and who ever does can get the masters which are still stuck on there. Theres a complete Pearl Jam show from Arnhem on there which may or may be lost...
