Just got back from a show where apparently my batteries died during taping.

Weirdly, when I open the folder containing the file, it shows up at 1.2GB.  But when I open the file in Audacity or Cog, it shows nothing.

Should I assume this means the R-09 doesn't properly record the music if it dies while doing so?

Also, anyone know any way I could fix this?

No it should be OK, you just need to generate a new header for it.

There is a 'repair file' option somewhere in the recorders menus :)

EDIT: From http://taperssection.com/index.php/topic,113485.0.html

Select the file in the list view by highlighting it and pressing record.
Scroll to the very bottom of the list of available functions (select, info, delete, rename, etc..).
If the file is damaged the 'repair' option will be present at the bottom of the list (you must scroll down to see it)
Select by pressing 'record' and the R-09 writes a new header for the file.

Give that a go.

Thank you so much - that did the trick.  I saved almost the entire show... think I only missed a few min of the encore.  Really appreciate it.

Hey, this gave me an idea! Did anyone try this repair utility with corrupt files that were made with another recorder?
Let's say I have a broken WAV from an Iriver that crapped out on me (tried fixing it with Wavelab, but no dice). Could I transfer this to the R-09 and have the utility repair it for me?
