« on: May 26, 2010, 08:49:42 PM »
Can anyone please explain to me how to open this?

I downloaded it, put it in my components folder, and now?

How the heck do I open this?

Okay,

Got it working.

Now, is there a way of tagging mp3's without going through individually and changing all the names?

Aka my file name is ph98-xx-xx, and I want it to be Ghost-> . Way of doing this in a list format?

it doesn't change the file name - it just adds Tags

if you want to change the actual file name you should get a program like The Rename or something similar

it can be tricky to get LiveShowTagger to work properly sometimes and may take some adjustments to the way your text/info file is formatted

Yeah, this thing hates me, and I'm pretty sure I hate it.

I think I like Easytag, I just downloaded it tonight.

Album artwork, id3 tags, etc.

Looks good.

once you get your info file formatted right it is really easy to use - a couple clicks will tag an entire recording

Why not just do your text file correctly the first time Mark?   Instead of putting everything on a separate line and putting redundant information in why not consolidate like most folks do?  LiveShowTagger works just fine for me that way, everytime.

Certainly if you are converting from someone else's mess of a txt file then you've got to reformat but no excuses for some of the txt files people come up with.

Because I like the looks of mine.   8)  Accurate and concise.  Been doing them that way since I started taping.  Why stop now?  It only takes a minute to do the above.  So I get the best of both worlds.

If the long and cluttered way works for you then have at it.

I like mine concise, to the point without so much bloat and duplicate info.  Makes it easy for me, the downloader and Foobar.

Here's an example:

MICROPHONE CONFIGURATION: DIN, 90 degrees 20 cm

Why put 90 degrees 20 cm when you've already put DIN.   DIN is 90/20 so 90/20 is already implied when you wrote DIN

As another example how about just:     FOB, DFC, 9', DIN @ 24/48

instead of

MICROPHONE LOCATION: FOB, DFC, about 9 feet high, 20 feet from stage
MICROPHONE CONFIGURATION: DIN, 90 degrees 20 cm
RECORDED FORMAT: 24 bit, 48 kHz

Your source info is damn near as long as the setlist.

I've always struggled with this plug-in as well.  Is it supposed to be able to handle text files that designate Disk 1 and Disk 2 (for dinosaurs like me who still listen primarily on CD)?  When I follow the instructions given above, it's confusing the two disks.  On the left side of the Live Show Tagger window ("Tracks") it's calling all of the Disk 1 tracks Disk 2.  The "Setlist" looks perfect, though (why?).  But then in the Foobar window, it's putting the Disk 1 tracks at the bottom and not giving them their appropriate titles.  Screen capture attached, as is the text file.

I think I've gotten it to work before, but I've had to select the tracks for each disk separately and tag them that way.  Is this the trick?  I was hoping I was overlooking something that would make it understand the two disks without any intervention on my part.

can't tell exactly what's going on from the screen cap.  but for disc one and disc two if the textfile has everything listed as

disc one:
1.
2.
3.
etc

disc two:
1.
2.
3.
etc

and the tracks are named d1t01 & d2t01

I've never had a issue.
