Hey guys,
I just started using my Active Cables for my Akg Bluelines, and i wanted to know if i should include them in my Lineage, or atleast make a note of it.
I haven't up to this point, becuase i never list any of my cables in my Lineage, but using the Active Cables is something out of the Ordinary, that i dont normally do.
Do you guys think its info that needs to be added?
Thanks for your opinions,
Rhys

considering that all the other actives are usually(kcy, kc5, lc3, etc...) i would rhys, anyone else 8)
-
you paid for them, might as well take credit for it :)
-
damn, im at a satanic ## of tix :P
-
actives are generally included
-
I'm with Lee - boast away. :)

I note them and think it makes sense to do so. I usually mark mine:
caps/actives/body > etc.
In my case:
MK4/KC5/CMC6 > etc.
-
cool. Thanks. I just wasnt sure, becuase i wouldnt think it would have any effect on sound.
Here is how the AKG Catelog lists it:
MK 90/3 + H 98
The description is: Microphone Cable and Adapter for Blueline Series.
How should i write this in my Lineage?
Lets say i am using the CK91 caps with them. Would it look like this:
(DIN)AKG 391's(MK90/3 + H 98)>UA-5pmod>24/48(SF5.0)Toshiba Portege 3480
Does that look right?
Or, following Brian's suggestion: CK91>MK90/3 +H 98>SE 300 B>UA-5pmod>24/48(SF5.0)Toshiba Portege 3480

the actives are in between the caps and bods.....
ck91/mk90/3 + H 98/SE300b doesn't look right, though
-
(DIN)AKG 391's(MK90/3 + H 98)>UA-5pmod>24/48(SF5.0)Toshiba Portege 3480.
That communicates the equipment used. If it was me, I'd do something like
AKG CK91/(MK90/3+H98)/SE300B > etc. Whatever you're comfortable with, both your notation above and mine communicate the same info, mine just lists it in its actual physical order. I wouldn't sweat the details too much (well, actually, I would because I'm a little OCD that way, but that doesn't mean you should!).
-
Great. Thanks for the advice.

a little OCD? :D j/p

I'm a big fan of noting signal path in source info, so I'd do it like this if it were me:
CK91>MK90/3 +H 98>SE 300 B>pmod UA-5@24/48>SoundForge 5.0
-
I just wasnt sure, becuase i wouldnt think it would have any effect on sound.
You mean like adding noise? ;)
