Title: Anyone used the Sony dvx 2100?
Post by: beatkilla on February 07, 2007, 01:40:34 PM
I'm considering buying this camera,i mainly shoot in low light(bands in bars with bad lighting).
Has anyone here used it or have any comments about it?

Do you mean the video cam DCR-VX2100 (vx2100)?  If so, yes, I have 2.  About the best SD cam for low light, with a lux level of 1.

I have filmed several bands with them.  Of course it would always be better to use exterior lighting.  If that's not an option, and you are ok with native 4:3 aspect ratio and standard definition... then they may be the best bang for the buck. (IMHO)

Pretty much the industry standard for the last couple of years for wedding videographers.

The very similar Sony pd170/pd150 have dual XLR adapters and provide 48v phantom power...
