I've joined wavs seamlessly with CEP. Open the first wav. The open, append, the second wav and the two will join seamlessly. I haven't tried it with 2+GB wav files yet though.

i saw a post bean made about using wavelab to do it, just a few posts down on this board

i only use wavelab, i used soundforge forever and recently converted solely to wavelab

il defd have some 2gb+ files tonight, so il just track out the first file untill the last song and then merge the next wav onto the single song...

i might switch my split to something a little less to make that a little easier... like 1900mb

There's no way around the 2BG limit in saving though. I've been splitting the 2 GB file where I will be splitting discs, appending the end of the 2GB file to the rest of the show after the 2 GB mark, and then processing the 2 resulting 24 bit files as 70-80 min files separately.

To join the wavs seamlessly open the first wav, then go to edit -> add a wav/file -> at end.  Very easy.

you just split the first .wav and take the last track and attach the second wav... its not that hard

To join the wavs seamlessly open the first wav, then go to edit -> add a wav/file -> at end.  Very easy.

Not if it is over 2GB.

...Kk

you can add the next file into the same window, you just can't save it as one big wav over 2 gigs.  you can still do all the post processing on both wavs in the same active window (including dithering), as long as your temp file is set to 24 bit, instead of 32 bit float.

edit to note: you can also do 24/96 track splits in this fashion.  just open up the first 2 gig file, insert the next file at end.  with both open in your window, sink generic markers where you want the splits and use the auto split function.  wavelab doesn't choke on the 2 gig limit if it's done this way.

Anyone know if WaveLab 5 has this limitation too?

Found the answer - at this point in time (or as of March 2005) WaveLab 5 has this limitation too.

Argh...  Enjoying the workarounds recommended in that thread, and in Damon's thread:
