If you wanna run ASIO you need to ditch WaveLab. Only shortcoming of that program....maybe a few others... ;)

Sony Vegas 5 works perfect with ASIO and has support for large files (i.e >2gb) using .w64 files which can then be edited in Vegas or SoundForge and then you can  use WaveLab for anything else you may need.

I don't know just where I'm going
But I'm gonna try for the kingdom, if I can

Tried Vegas and it did not function the way I needed it to (i.e., 4 discreet tracks in real time using the FW 1814). Also, I wasn't looking for the video capabilities of Vegas. But for this ASIO situation, Wavelab works very well for my needs. I've had no problems recording 24/96 in two track.

There is an update to the ASIO drivers for Wavelab...but unfortunately you have to have the full version of Wavelab 5 with the CD in order to apply the patch (and I'm just running the demo right now). I'm checking with a couple different sources to determine if the patch works in this situation or not. Be a bummer to plunk down the $$ for Wavelab 5 to discover it won't work even with the patch.
